The Meeting of the Parish Council was held on Wednesda= y 18th June 2008 at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall Annexe, Cottingham.

 

Present: =   Cllrs Phillipson (Chair), Ainge, Alvey, Claypole, Cole and Dickens, Mrs Medwell (Parish Clerk), County Cllr Heggs and one member of the public.

2.  Declaration of Interest:      Cllr Philli= pson declared a non-prejudicial interest in the Middleton Village Hall project.<= span style=3D'mso-tab-count:1'>              &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;            &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;            &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;            &= nbsp;            


3. Minutes: The minutes of 21st May = 2008 were duly approved and signed.

4.  Ma= tters Arising:

Cllr Phillipson said that a positive response had been received from Cottingham Parish Council to join the Village Litter Pick. Cl= lr Alvey agreed to assist Cllr Robertson in co-ordinating the pick, probably to take place in September / October.


5. Meeting Open for Public Participation:

County Cllr Heggs requested that the Council resend the bid for the new gate on The Hill/ Jurassic Way footpath as there was still £1,000 funding for ‘Sa= fer Communities’ available (actio= n DP). He also requested that all pot holes in the Village be identified and a list sent to May Geurney.

Mr Allsop discussed and displayed a site plan and prop= osals for the new meeting room.

6. Village Hall Project:

Cllr Phillipson advised that documentation f= or adoption by CBC is ready to sign and acknowledged the hard work done by Mr Allsop on the draft plan of the building.


7. Highways:

Elder Tree – Removed, the Council expressed their thanks to Simon Medwell.

Wood = Lane / Occupation Lane and Jurassic Way (Camsdale Walk end) – Identified as having obstructions or in need of cutting back. Clerk to cont= act NCC Rights of Way (action JM).<= /p>

Flooding at Longridge Nurs= ery – Cllr Phillipson suggested that Ms Wright write to her neighbour in = view that ground works done there the previous year may be contributing to the flooding.


8. Dog Fouling:

The Clerk reported that she had a site meeting with CBC Angela McNeill tomorrow afternoon to finalise exact locations of dog bins. = The Council identified these as being along Camsdale walk, on the verge entrance to Darescroft and b= y the culvert in Glover Court.


9. Village Matters:

Cllr Phillipson advised that the current village sign = would be suitable if the bushes obstructing the site were cleared. Cllr Dickens commented that the bus shelter needed clearing (action JM).

10. Planning:

There were no planning applications to discuss.


11. VHMC:

Cllr Claypole reported that the court case had been se= ttled and queried whether the donation from Middleton Parish could be reinstated.= The Council agreed to put on next = months agenda.
